Less humid weekend, watching the tropics next week

It’ll be a warm weekend with lower humidity. Next week a tropical system could bring the area heavy rain by Wednesday. We’ll dry out and cool down for Halloween.

NEW ORLEANS — A cool front will move through the area Saturday morning. We will have a few lingering showers mainly along the coast Saturday morning. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy, warm and a tad less humid with highs in the lower 80s. Sunday will be partly cloudy, dry and less humid with highs in the lower to mid 80s.

Next Week Outlook: All eyes will be on a cold front and the tropics. Invest 95 looks like it will move into the Gulf by next week. Moisture will start to return by Tuesday, but we still only expect a few showers and t-storms that day. By Wednesday moisture from the system will get pulled across the area as a cold front moves in from the west. The timing of the front will determine if we see rainfall from Invest 95. A faster front means less impact from this system, but a slower cold front means more of an impact from the system. Right now it appears it will be a fast moving system that will bring heavy rain to some location from Louisiana to Florida. There are still uncertainties this far out, so check back for updates.

The cold front will move through by Thursday and that means we will have cooler temperatures and drier weather for Friday and Halloween!
