The NYPD says to avoid a lower Manhattan subway station as it investigates a report of two suspicious packages, items that closely resemble pressure or rice cookers, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation tell News 4.
A report of the packages, which were found near an elevator and near a platform, at the Fulton Street station in the area of Fulton and William streets came in around 7:30 a.m. Friday. The station was evacuated as a precaution; the NYPD’s Bomb Squad was called to investigate.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. The MTA tweeted there were service changes and delays in Nos. 2 and 3 train service as the NYPD investigated.
Video posted to the Citizen app showed a heavy police response in the area.
