Not much relief from the warm temperatures and humidity until late next week.

NEW ORLEANS — Heavy rain will continue for parts of the area through Friday afternoon, but should start to wind down by the evening hours. A few showers and t-storms will remain possible through tonight, but it’s not expected to be as widespread. A weak front will move through Saturday morning.

Weekend Forecast: We will have a few showers mainly in the morning Saturday. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy, warm and a tad less humid with highs in the lower 80s. Sunday will be partly cloudy, dry and less humid with highs in the lower to mid 80s.

Next Week Outlook: All eyes will be on a cold front and the tropics. Invest 95 looks like it will move into the Gulf by next week. We won’t feel any impacts through Tuesday. By Wednesday moisture from the system will get pulled across the area as a cold front moves in from the west. The timing of the front will determine if we see rainfall from Invest 95.

Right now, it does look like we will have cooler temperatures and drier weather for Halloween!
